New Pastor Selected - Today at a Special Congregational Business Meeting our members in attendance (exceeded a quorum by nearly 2 times) voted unanimously to extend a call to Rev. Jonathan Meyer to be the next pastor at Scandia Covenant Church. Following that meeting, Pastor Jon accepted our call verbally and we celebrated the fact that the search was over, and the pastor God had been preparing for us was now known. He tentatively plans to be at Scandia starting on Sunday September 26, 2010, but that is still to be determined.
Summer Worship Schedule –During the summer months (May 30th – Sept. 5th) we will have one worship service at 10:00 AM.
Outdoor Worship Service at the Pavilion and Church Picnic Special Guests:The Conewango Clippers August 29th, 10:00 AM Let us come together for worship at our pavilion Sunday, August 29th at 10:00 AM. The Conewango Clippers from Warren will be our guests. A church picnic will follow. Please bring a dish to pass. Bring a friend! A love offering will be taken for the Conewango Clippers.
Bare Your Bookshelf collection: Scandia Covenant is participating in a local book drive for Christian Resources International, CRI. This is a non-profit organization that recycles Christian literature that is in good condition. Anything donated will be graciously accepted, i.e. Sunday school materials, theological books, gospel tracts and anything else with good moral content. A donation of $1 inside the cover to help defray shipping costs would be appreciated but not mandatory. These donated materials will be sent to a warehouse in Michigan which will then be sent overseas. They will be put to good use by missionary workers. Website: cribooks.homestead.com
